Eco-Structure Workshop

Eco-structure workshop will give the opportunity to experience masonry of an adobe wall, building walls with rammed earth and gabion technics so that a demonstration space will be erected in the garden of Mimas Art house in Barbaros Village. During the workshop period, 19-22 September, there will be time to listen sustainable architectural works of experienced trainers in the workshop team and have technical visits to the construction sites and completed works in the vicinity.

The aim of the eco-structure workshop is to form functional walls which are in different measures, distances and angles to each other. With these walls, a vacant area will be transformed to a creative discovery space. Eco-structures will enable the demonstration of innovative or up-to-date use of local building materials and technics which is especially important for the sustainable living in the rural. Every wall that will be built, will be made from a different building material and technic. Walls will be maximum 4 meter long, 2 meter high. So during eco-structure workshop that will be realized during 19-22 September, adobe, rammed earth and gabion wall constructions will be experienced.

Most of the workshop trainers are experts in sustainable architecture, healthy buildings and have know-how in the use of natural building materials. The workshop trainers will be responsible of the below processes:

The workshop partner coordinator is Building Biology and Ecology Institute Turkey and the host is Mimas Art House in Barbaros village, Urla.

Workshop fee: 325.-TL, for students: 300.-TL (it is taken in order to meet costs of materials and tools)
