The UIA is endorsing the international architectural design competition for the National Concert Hall in Vilnius, Lithuania. Architects from all over the world are invited to design one of the most important future spaces in the capital city of Lithuania and to submit their proposals to Vilnius City Municipality.
The competition was launched on 18 February 2019 in Vilnius. Present at the event were UIA Secretary General Serban Tiganas and International Competitions Commission Co-director Jerzy Grochulski.
Participants of the architectural competition will be asked to design a building, two concert halls, spaces for lounge bars, a spacious lobby with a breath-taking view of the city, and premises for any other cultural activities. The budget for design and construction works amounts to EUR 52 million. All object designing, construction and installation as well as land plot management related costs are included in this amount.
In accordance with the terms and conditions of the architectural design competition drawn up by the municipality, the new building should accommodate up to 1,700 people in the big hall and 500 people in the small hall. The architectural contest is organised by the Lithuanian Union of Architects on behalf on the Vilnius City Municipal Administration in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
Interested participants are invited to register via CPP lS https://pirkimai.eviesiejipirkimai.lt. All communication between the Contracting Authority and the Participants will be conducted via this system.
All queries and the responses to the queries will be published anonymously in the Q&A Logs, which will be made publicly available and uploaded to the CPP IS portal https://pirkimai.eviesiejipirkimai.lt.
