It is with great pleasure and excitement that Frame Publishers and Moooi announce the launch of an inaugural design competition.

The Frame Moooi Award is looking for the best furniture and lamps that have been designed for a specific interior. The winning project will be published in Frame magazine and its designer will receive the grand prize: a jaw-dropping €25,000.

The winner will be determined by our superstar juror, French architect and designer Philippe Starck. The internationally-celebrated creator will review all submissions and select the best, which will be announced at a star-studded award ceremony in April at Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2012.

Applications will be accepted from interior designers, product designers and architects. Developers, funders, contractors and other associated organizations can also enter on behalf of architects or designers with their consent.

Eligible submissions must be of a product custom designed for a specific interior, completed between 1 January, 2010, and 1 September, 2011. Products already in commercial production are also eligible.

Mark your calendars for 1 September, 2011, when the competition will begin to accept applications online www.framemoooi.com. The closing date for entries will be 1 December, 2011 and shortlisted finalists will be revealed 15 March, 2012.
