623 Competition Entries revealed for Finland’s New Museum of Architecture and Design in Helsinki

The Foundation for the Finnish Museum of Architecture and Design and the Real Estate Company ADM have revealed details of the 623 designs submitted to Stage 1 of their international open design competition for a new museum building in Helsinki’s South Harbour.

MO.CA: IAAC produces a self-sufficient mobile home made of dowel-laminated timber

MO.CA (MOBILE CATALYST) is an advanced and ecological mobile home built using ‘zero-kilometre’ natural materials and digital construction techniques produced at Valldaura Labs in the Natural Park of Collserola (Barcelona). The Mobile Catalyst (MOCA) has been developed by a team of students and researchers of the Masters programme in Advanced Ecological Buildings & Biocities (MAEBB) of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC).

European Prize for Urban Public Space 2024

“Neuer Kanzlerplatz” Office Quarter

JSWD proudly introduces Neuer Kanzlerplatz, a new office complex in the city of Bonn, Germany. In 2015, as part of an urban development qualification process, the city put out a call for a concept to build the new office complex at the intersection of a heavily frequented highway and a wide set of train tracks. JSWD was awarded the contract, together with Art-Invest Real Estate.

Jiaxing Train Station

MAD Architects has completed Jiaxing Train Station, the firm’s first transportation infrastructure reconstruction and expansion project. Located at the center of Jiaxing, a historic city 100 kilometers southwest of Shanghai, the project replaces a dysfunctional train station that had stood at the site between 1995 and 2019.

The Ephesus Experience Museum: A Symphony on a World Heritage Site

Nestled within the sacred grounds of the archaeological site of Selçuk, Turkey, the Ephesus Experience Museum resurrects the rich past of the once-legendary city Ephesos. An audiovisual symphony of myth and reality takes visitors on a journey into the past. ATELIER BRÜCKNER designed the architecture and the immersive visitor experience. It covers 2400 square metres and is intended to welcome 2200 visitors a day. The experience appeals to all senses.
