Tree Houses Bodrum, designed by Boran Ekinci Architecture, is located in Gümüşlük.
Tree Houses, is located on an inclined site in Bodrum Gümüşlük. Project is made with cooperative model. After the purchase of the site, it was divided into parcels and their worth were analyze. According to request lots were drawn and parcels were distributed to 15 members. The design process took shape for each parcel and each house by talking to its owner. The protection of all the vegetation and the compatibility to the site were essential. In this sense, a module system which can adapt to changing slope and natural conditions was designed. With these modules each space was handled as individual units and was formed in every parcel according to owner critique and natural conditions.
Therefore a consistent design ideology where user needs and environmental parameters were overlapping, was created. While the existing green texture was sustained among the space modular system, the bold areas were used as open spaces, terraces and courtyards. With this approach, open space configuration determined the open-closed space permeability rather than the masses. Reed eaves created a unity of one-storey space modules as well as shaded areas in courtyards and terraces which is essential for this particular hot weather climate. In terms of material, local natural landscape was used as a reference and therefore the harmony of this spread simple modular system and the environment was achieved.
