Emin Furkan Özbek'in TraMOD AWARDS 2023 için hazırladığı proje önerisi.
Water hyacinths have always been a problem in the Asi river, which runs through the centre of Hatay/ Antakya.
Before the earthquake, local people complained about the water hyacinths disrupting the ecosystem of the underwater creatures and the bad odour.
After the earthquake, the same problems persist.
The project also serves to connect the east and west of Hatay.
In this way, both the traditional pattern and the modern pattern will be connected to each other.
In addition to steel and concrete, the project includes traditional Anatolian wooden hımış walls and bağdadi walls.
In this way, it is aimed to combine the modern and the traditional too.
The aim here is also to combine the traditional and the modern not only in material but also in philosophical terms.
The ECO BIRDGE project was conceived for the development of the local community in Hatay, for the recovery of the ecosystem and for a sustainable future.
The project has shops, workshops and a cafe on the south side and terraces on the north side.
Water hyacinths are intended to gather on the terraces on the north facade.
Thank you.
