They’re getting our hands dirty and joining James Hardie in the sandbox for our latest design competition. Your mission is to wow us with renderings of fantastical funhouses for the mini design enthusiasts in the making. We’re on the hunt for the kind of structures sure to slow passersby, and be the envy of fun-loving kids and sophisticated parents alike. Whether you’re inspired by Bauhaus or Versailles, we want you to go wild and channel your inner child.

The Challenge?
We’re getting our hands dirty and joining James Hardie in the sandbox for our latest design competition. Your mission—should you choose to accept—is to wow us with renderings of fantastical funhouses for the mini design enthusiasts in the making.

We’re not looking for your typical pastel palaces, pirate ships, and dollhouses. Instead, we want ideas that are daring, decadent, and chic. Playhouses that aren’t meant to catch dust in the back yard, but dazzling designs worthy of display out front. The kind of structures sure to slow passersby, and be the envy of fun-loving kids and sophisticated parents alike.

The only caveat is keep it under 300 square feet and incorporate James Hardie siding and trim. Otherwise, whether you’re inspired by Bauhaus or Versailles, we want you to go wild and channel your inner child.

Keep checking back to see recent submissions and tell us what you think! We’ll judge the submissions and select five finalists. Popular vote will determine one grand-prize winner who will take home $10,000 in cash! Voting commences October 20th at facebook.com/JamesHardieBP. There’s a lot at stake so make sure to vote for your favorite.

Design Considerations + Criteria
If you’re in it to win it, then your design must:

* Take into consideration James Hardie’s suite of building materials
* Should strive to incorporate only James Hardie product
* Use James Hardie Siding and Trim products
* Be under 300 square feet

How to Enter
To be considered, your submission must contain:

* a completed entry form with all required fields filled out
* at least one conceptual design submitted using the program of your choice
* a brief description telling us the inspiration behind your creation

Judging Criteria
Our esteemed panel of judges will be selecting 5 finalists based on the following:

* adherence to requirements and rules set forth for this competition
* innovative application of James Hardie materials and products
* consideration of all design requirements as listed above

Voting + Winner Selection
Judges will select 5 finalists, but then it’s up to you to vote for your favorite from October 20th through November 28th! Popular vote will decide:

* 1 grand prize winner

Prizing
The winning entrant will receive:

* $10,000 in cash from James Hardie

Auction
All 5 finalists’ designs will be built by James Hardie and auctioned off by James Hardie for charity between December 5th and December 16th.
